Privacy Policy (United States)

Draft. Not yet in effect.

This Privacy Policy explains how TICSI Pty Ltd, an Australian company trading as Household Pet“we”, “us” or “our” — collects, uses, stores and shares personal information about users in the United States.

It applies to:

  • our mobile apps for iPhone and Android (“the App”),
  • our website at us.household.pet and any subdomain (“the Website”), and
  • any related services we provide (together, “the Services”).

We've written this in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at privacy@us.household.pet.

The short version

  1. You own your pet's data. Download or delete it any time from Settings → Privacy & data in the App.
  2. US accounts are stored in the United States. Your pet records live on AWS servers in the US. A small number of service providers process limited technical data — we name each one below.
  3. We never sell your data, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
  4. The AI assistant is not a vet. It helps you decide what to do. If you're worried about your pet, call your vet.
  5. Subscriptions go through Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription state — they receive a minimum of personal information to do so.
  6. You can access, correct or delete your data whether or not a state privacy law technically applies to you. We respond within 30 days.

1. Who we are

We are TICSI Pty Ltd, a company registered in Australia, operating Household Pet for users in the United States. Our registered address is Suite 408, 100 Harbour Esp, Docklands VIC 3008, Australia. Our privacy contact is privacy@us.household.pet.

2. What we collect

When you create an account: your email address, a password (we store only a cryptographic hash — we never see the plain text), and a display name you choose. You must be 13 or older to create an account.

When you add a pet: name, species, breed, sex, spay/neuter status, date of birth, microchip number, color, photo, and health-log entries (symptoms, vet visits, medications, weight, notes).

When you use the AI symptom assistant: the symptom description you enter and the model's response are stored against the pet record. See section 6.

When you subscribe: we receive confirmation of your subscription through RevenueCat. We never see your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

Automatically when you use the Services: device type and operating-system version (for crash reporting), an IP address (for security purposes only), and a randomly-generated push-notification token. We do not link IP addresses to your account records, and we do not use cross-site tracking or advertising cookies.

3. How we use it

  • to provide and improve the Services, including the health log, reminders, vet-report generation and AI symptom assistant;
  • to manage your account and authenticate you;
  • to process and manage your subscription;
  • to send transactional emails (password reset, pet-sharing invitations, subscription receipts);
  • to diagnose and fix technical issues (crash reports);
  • to comply with our legal obligations; and
  • to respond to your inquiries and complaints.

We do not send marketing email without your consent, and every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe link and our postal address, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. We do not use health information about your pet for any purpose other than operating the Services.

4. Where your data is stored

Data for US accounts is stored on cloud infrastructure located in the United States (Amazon Web Services). A copy is also kept locally on each device you sign in on, protected by your device's built-in data protection, so the App works offline; the local copy is deleted when you sign out or uninstall the App.

We protect your personal information with:

  • encryption of all data in transit and at rest;
  • role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication for internal systems;
  • regular review of access logs and security configurations; and
  • a documented data-breach response plan, including notification where required by applicable state breach-notification laws.

5. Who we share it with

We share limited personal information with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, for the purposes described:

  • Amazon Web Services (United States) — hosts the Services.
  • Sentry (Germany) — receives crash diagnostic information to help us identify and fix technical issues. No pet records or health data are sent to Sentry.
  • RevenueCat (United States) — receives your subscription status to manage your plan entitlements. No pet records or health data are sent to RevenueCat.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or the public.

6. The AI symptom assistant

The symptom assistant provides general information about possible causes and next steps for a symptom you describe. It is not veterinary advice. It does not diagnose, prescribe or treat any condition. If you are worried about your pet, stop using the assistant and contact your veterinarian or the nearest 24-hour emergency clinic.

The assistant runs on cloud infrastructure located in the United States. Your symptom inputs and the model's responses are stored as health-log entries against the pet record. We do not use them to train AI models. You can delete individual entries or your entire account at any time.

7. How long we keep your data

While your account is active, we keep your data to operate the Services. When you delete your account, a 14-day grace period applies (in case of accidental deletion). After that, we permanently delete all personal information from live systems. Encrypted backups expire automatically within 35 days. Aggregate anonymous metrics that cannot be linked to an individual may be retained indefinitely.

8. Children

The Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at privacy@us.household.pet and we will delete the account promptly.

9. Your rights

Depending on your state, you may have statutory rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising (we don't do any of those). We honor these requests for all US users, regardless of state:

  • Access / export — Settings → Privacy & data → Download my data, or email privacy@us.household.pet.
  • Correct — edit most fields directly in the App, or email us.
  • Delete — Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my account.
  • Opt out of analytics — Settings → Privacy & data → Analytics.

We respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We may decline a request where the law permits (for example, where access would unreasonably affect another person's privacy), in which case we will explain why in writing.

10. Changes to this policy

We review and update this policy from time to time. We will update the effective date at the top and notify you of material changes by email and with an in-app notice.
